Slicing: Power on and feed biltong through the safety mouthpiece. Use the provided feeder tool for the final section—never insert hands into the inlet.
Technique: For industrial throughput, rotate the biltong slightly while feeding to maintain the cleanest cutting edge against tough sinew.
Care: Unplug before maintenance. Release the front cover via the wing nut for a rapid wipe-down of the hardened steel blade and wheel.

Great at slicing. As with these machines the safety tunnel prevents you from putting in with your hand up to a point. When you push the rest in with the prodder the steak flips around and slices with the grain which can be a little annoying. But I understand that there may not be a way around this.
Overall works as well maybe better than any slicer of this kind

The mouth piece is designed to minimize the risk of possible accidents, but we completely understand your point. We designed the mouth piece so that the user can use their thumbs to push nearly to the end and then use the feeder to push the remaining +-30mm of Biltong through. Feedback like this is incredibly valuable to us as we continually look for ways to improve our products.

This slicer runs beautifully. Smooth and silent. Consistently thin slices. I should have bought this model a long time ago. My other slicer is so noisy and doesn’t produce consistent thickness of slices.
